Webdam Rebrand
A full rebrand for Webdam, a digital asset management platform and a Shutterstock company, built to carry the brand into its next phase of growth. A new logo, website, guidelines, and more than 7,000 refreshed print and digital assets.
The challenge
Build a brand ready for Webdam's next phase of growth.
Webdam had become a leading digital asset management platform and a Shutterstock company, but the brand had not kept pace with the business. I was brought on to create a brand platform that could scale with the company's growth, capture what made Webdam distinct, and pull thousands of print and digital assets into one coherent system.
The identity
A refreshed identity, down to the logo I drew myself.
We rebuilt the brand from the logo out: a cleaner wordmark, a bolder color system, and a full type system. I worked side by side with a small outside agency on the brand guidelines and direction, and stayed hands-on through every detail, down to drawing the final logo myself.

The wordmark, before and after.
The palette
A bolder, brighter color system.
A palette built to feel fresh and confident across the product, the site, and thousands of assets.
The type
Two typefaces, a full range of weights.

The website
A new site to match the new brand.
The rebrand extended to a new website that gave the brand room to tell its story and show the product. I directed the work alongside the agency that designed and built the site, keeping every page tight to the new system.

The brand in the wild
One system, 7,000+ assets.
The new brand rolled out everywhere, from environments and events to a full illustration and iconography system, and across more than 7,000 refreshed print and digital assets. Keeping that volume on brand was as much creative operations as it was design.

Print · onboarding
A welcome kit that made the brand tangible.
With the rebrand came a chance to rethink how new Webdammers met the brand on day one. I designed a welcome kit of branded goods, from a desk setup to a tote to a hand-signed "Howdy" card, that made new hires feel at home and built brand recognition from the first day.

What I took from it
Takeaways.
A Creative Director who still makes the work
I set the direction, led the in-house and freelance team, and ran the agency relationship, and I drew the logo myself. I do my best work when I can own the strategy and stay close to the craft.
Design that scales
7,000+ assets only stay on brand if the system is built to. This was as much creative operations as it was design: one platform that let a growing company move fast without drifting off brand.
